Defence Vehicle Dynamics (DVD) is a biennial event organised by The British Army, Ministry of Defence (MOD) and Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S). The two-day schedule brings together the military, industry and the acquisition community for informal discussions, engagement with users, briefings, seminars, demonstrations and live displays.

The event attracted more than 6,000 vetted attendees to DVD2018, who were able to view a wide range of equipment and services on display, from defence industry exhibitors including specialist vehicles through to all the equipment and services necessary to support land-based military operations.

The team at Interdirect created a dedicated and highly bespoke website,, that gave information to visitors, exhibitors and the press. The site included online delegate registration, exhibitor listings and a fully comprehensive FAQ section.

In the build up to the event, the team also produced the official Show Guide, incorporated a fully integrated email management system for delegates, managed the contracting process and offered a full PR service, handling all official pre-show communications with the media.

For the show itself, Interdirect managed the development and installation of digital way-finding touch screens, allowing for easy navigation around the vast event site, which covers four indoor exhibition areas and two outdoor display spaces. Across the two days, our PR team were kept busy working with press from around the world and receiving TV coverage from both ITV News and BFBS Forces TV.

PR Account Manager at Interdirect, Anne Walsh, who led the team at DVD2018, said, “Interdirect has provided communications and marketing support for the DVD event since 2013 and plays a key role in working with MOD, DE&S and Millbrook to ensure its continued success.

With so many different elements to manage, from email marketing, the DVD website and way-finding screens, through to organising and communicating with the more than 70 press in attendance – the project certainly kept us on our toes. We are pleased with the results from this year’s event and the positive feedback we have received from the DVD2018 team. We are now looking forward to starting the conversations about DVD2020!”
