This year’s Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards have been dubbed by many as the best yet, and with 50th anniversary celebrations in full swing throughout the glamorous awards ceremony, it’s easy to see why.

Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards were once again organised by Milton Keynes Business Leaders Partnership (MKBLP), in association with full service marketing agency, Interdirect and event management experts, Evolution.

For the third consecutive year, Interdirect had the honour of designing the trophies, arguably one of the most important parts of proceedings, since it’s the prize that award winners proudly display for many years to come.

This year, with the 50th Birthday of Milton Keynes playing an integral part of the awards, the trophies were inspired to bring the past to the present and reflect on the achievements of Milton Keynes as a whole.

Trophies feature a newspaper from the very day Milton Keynes was born, 23 January 1967. The end caps on the trophies can even be removed, so that winners can take a look at what was hot off the press 50 years ago.

Nicholas Mann, Managing Director of Interdirect explains the vision behind this year’s awards: “Each year Interdirect sets the bar higher in creating works of art in the trophies for the Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards. This year, we felt it was important to ensure the awards incorporated MK50, and hence the concept of the birthday newspaper was born.

“We are very proud of the trophies and hope that award winners will be too, when they take pride of place on the mantel piece or trophy cabinet in their business.”

One of this year’s big winners was Marshall Amplification, who took home two awards, for Design and Creativity and overall Business of the Year.

Jonathan Ellery, Managing Director of Marshall Amplification Plc said: “We were honoured to be involved with the MKBAA and doubly overjoyed to receive the Business of the Year award at the end of the evening.
“We thought that the actual design of the awards was unique and imaginatively represented the historic 50th anniversary of Milton Keynes. Both of our awards are now proudly displayed in our reception area and prominently act as a focal point of achievement.
“These awards are humbly received at Marshall Amplification. They act as a reflection of all the hard work undertaken by the Company’s workforce and its long association with the Milton Keynes Community.”
