2011’s report published by the IPA found that multi-channel campaigns are more effective than single channels to increase return on investment and this last year saw some truly innovative examples from the world’s biggest brands. 

One of the most impressive had to be Bing’s “Decode Jay-Z”. This campaign seamlessly integrated web, mobile, social media, outdoor, print and PR to create an epic location based campaign and game which captivated the imagination of a new young audience and proved that inspiration and engagement can really deliver results.

“Decode Jay-Z” gained 1m Facebook fans, an average player engagement of 11 minutes per visit and an 11.7% increase in visits to the search engine.

Interdirect has long been a supporter of creativity and culture in Milton Keynes and for 35 years the Milton Keynes City Orchestra has played an integral part in the cultural life of the city; bringing inspirational classical works to the ears of aficionado’s and first time listeners alike.

Interdirect wanted to give something back to this great institution and re-designed the website to reflect the dynamism and vibrancy it continues to bring to Milton Keynes.

Interdirect Recruits Front-End Web Developer

Andrew Smith

Interdirect is delighted to welcome new addition, Andrew Smith, to Interdirect’s talented build team.

Andrew joins us from top digital agency Sapient Nitro, where he worked as an interactive developer on projects for world renowned brands such as HSBC, Mars and was responsible for the front-end development of a wide range of website’s and applications.

Prior to this Andrew worked at Syzgy UK, Liveline and Vmal Limited and has continued to develop his skills throughout his career. Andrew brings with him over 6 years experience in CSS, CSS3, (X)HTML, HTML5, Javascript and PHP, and will be working with the rest of Interdirect’s hard working and talented team to bring high quality digital solutions to its clients.

 

London to Brighton Bike Ride for Willen Hospice

Proving that Interdirect never shy’s away from a challenge, this September three members of the team will be cycling from London to Brighton in aid of Willen Hospice.

Interdirect has a history of taking on physical challenges. Only last year Debbie and Lottie walked part of the Great Wall of China for local charity Climb Your Mountain and managing director Nicholas Mann successfully reached the summit of Mont Blanc.

Martin, Nicola and John will be taking on their challenge on the 11th September by cycling the 54 miles from London to Brighton and will be hoping to raise over £300 for nursing care at Willen Hospice.

A Balloon With a View

Interdirect loves big ideas, and they don’t come much bigger than those of José Mariano López-Urdiales, who plans to allow us all to glimpse the curve of the earth from a balloon.

“The first people who described the earth as a blue ball were not in rockets,” the Spanish entrepreneur says. “They were flying in balloons.”

José is offering what he calls the “near-space” experience of viewing the planet and the space beyond it from 36 km (22 miles) above the earth. He hopes to have the first passengers aloft in the near-space vehicle called a “bloon” by the middle of this decade.
