Glitch is coming. A creative game. On the Web.

With the growing trends of online games such as Farmville for Facebook, TinySpeck are bringing a more creative online game to the web.

Glitch is a massively-multiplayer game, playable in the browser and built in the spirit of the web. It is currently in development and will launch late in 2010. Private alpha is beginning shortly and a public beta period will begin this summer.

For starters, it's all one big world. Which means everyone is playing the same game and anyone's actions have the ability to affect every other player in the game. It also involves very little war, moats, spaceships, wizards, mafiosos, or tapestries. Also: they have egg plants. Egg plants make it very different.

Okido is the brainchild of multimedia designer and scientist Sophie Dauvois who was fed up with the market for children’s magazines being dominated by nothing but product placement and pointless information. She and her business partner, illustrator Rachel Ortas, wanted a magazine that appealed to kids and adults but was educational at the same time and, being designers, it obviously had to look great too!

So Okido was born and the website lives up to everything the magazine offers, with colouring in, games, recipes and lots of other great distractions, all available to download for free...

Oh and I forgot to mention it’s a pretty good website for big kids too!

The original concept was to have Scarygirl as a small online interactive where a player guides this lonely girl through various simple missions to win friends. Scarygirl as a brand has now been in existence for a number of years. Toys, a graphic novel and various art shows based on the main characters had been released to the public. Take a look, it's pretty flash.

Very cool illustrations from Mike Harrison. Harrison is a man of many talents and he's been busy-busy. He's updated his portfolio with a new look and some fresh work for Nike, he has “something cooking, slowly” for Depthcore and he’s been writing an article for Computer Arts about his work for Nike.
