The website was skinned to incorporate Lava’s branding and is integrated with Interdirect’s content management system, SiteMachine.

Interdirect is delighted to announce the launch of a bespoke new booking system for Champneys, the prestigious, luxury spa group. The new booking system makes it simpler, faster and easier for the customer to book their spa breaks, enabling the Champneys brand experience to be a relaxing one from start to finish.

After listening to feedback from guests, Champneys wanted to develop a system which had easy-to-use navigation and clear instructions, allowing the user to clearly see the choices available to them, such as the type of well being break or the length of stay, and to make a booking with as little stress as possible.

The presentation included highlights from numerous reports and studies that demonstrate the rapid adoption of social media for marketing and outreach, including spending projections, penetration estimates, survey data, and specific examples covering all types of businesses.

  1. Social media spending is expected to increase from £463 million in 2008 to £2.1 billion in 2014, a 34% compound annual growth rate (CAGR)
  2. Over 40% of people have “friended” a brand on Facebook or MySpace
  3. 20% of tweets are about products such as invitations for product information, answers or responses from peers, or directly communication by brand representatives
  4. 58% of people said if they tweet about a bad experience, they would like the company to respond to their comment
  5. Facebook’s estimated valuation is upwards of £ 6.5 billion
