Interdirect’s Pedal Power Pays Off

Nicola Mason and Martin Back on their bikes

Interdirect has done it again! The full service agency from Milton Keynes has raised more than £500 for local charity, Willen Hospice. Nicola Mason and Martin Back from Interdirect took part in a charity cycle challenge from London to Brighton last weekend and raised £505, smashing their initial target of £300.

Despite high winds and even higher hills, the team pedalled on to complete the 54 mile journey in just four and a half hours.  A huge thank you to the team, clients, friends and family for all the money that was raised for a charity close to the heart of Interdirect.

The money will go towards the care and support that Willen Hospice provides to families in Milton Keynes and the surrounding area.

It’s not too late to donate, visit www.justgiving.com/Interdirect-London-to-Brighton to pledge your support.

London to Brighton Bike Ride for Willen Hospice

Proving that Interdirect never shy’s away from a challenge, this September three members of the team will be cycling from London to Brighton in aid of Willen Hospice.

Interdirect has a history of taking on physical challenges. Only last year Debbie and Lottie walked part of the Great Wall of China for local charity Climb Your Mountain and managing director Nicholas Mann successfully reached the summit of Mont Blanc.

Martin, Nicola and John will be taking on their challenge on the 11th September by cycling the 54 miles from London to Brighton and will be hoping to raise over £300 for nursing care at Willen Hospice.

If you would like to help Nicola, John and Martin on their journey please go to their JustGiving page and sponsor this great cause.

Buy Life - The Washable Point of Sale for a Great Cause

Buy Life

Interdirect loves this concept for the Keep a Child Alive Campaign, where your T-shirt becomes a washable Point of Sale.

The "Buy Life" concept is a very clever campaign for Keep a Child Alive. It enables you to buy a t-shirt for $35 which is aimed at raising funds and awareness for the plight of Aids and HIV sufferers in Africa and India.

As with any retail process the ease with which the customer can give their money and so the ease with which it can be received is a major obstacle, and websites like Just Giving have proven how e-commerce can massively increase donation levels for charities.

This project takes it one step further with these T-shirts which enable you, once the app is downloaded, to scan the barcode and donate directly to the campaign.

So as you are at work, in the bar or even just walking down the street friends and family, and even philanthropic strangers can scan your t-shirt and donate to this great cause.

Interdirect Goes Live with a New Website for Willen Hospice

Interdirect is delighted to announce the launch of a fresh new website for Willen Hospice, a charity which provides specialist palliative care for those who suffer with life limiting illnesses in the Milton Keynes area.

Interdirect has supported the Hospice for 7 years now with various gifts in kind, including email marketing and their previous website. This year the charity needed a new website to accompany the launch of its new brand identity, which was unveiled at their Business Reception earlier this month, in preparation for their 30th Anniversary celebrations in 2011.

Interdirect have designed and developed the website - the company’s team, many of whom have been touched by the care offered at Willen, are very proud of the project and hope it will help enable this great charity to continue their vital work long into the future.

Paul Hinson, Chief Executive of Willen Hospice stated:

We are delighted with the new website which Interdirect has given to us. It will take us forward into our 30th Anniversary year and could not have been achieved without the continuing support of Interdirect and the many other businesses who have helped us over the years.

It takes £4 million a year to keep Willen Hospice going, that’s £500 every hour, every day, which takes a great deal of fundraising, and we could not continue our work without the support of the community.

Interdirect Reach Snowdon Summit for Climb Your Mountain

Nick, Debbie and Lottie at the summit of Snowdon with their 16 fellow adventurers in aid of Climb Your Mountain

This weekend Nick, Debbie and I together with a group of 16 other brave adventurers, trekked up Snowdon in aid of local charity Climb Your Mountain (CYM), which supports people who suffer from anxiety, stress and depression.

The hike up the mountain was also a great way for Debbie and I  to do some last minute training for our trek along the Great Wall of China for CYM (on the 1st May!) and for Nick to get ready for his own adventure, up to the summit of Mont Blanc in July.

We arrived on Saturday and were blessed by glorious weather as we made our way up the Miner trail to some of Snowdon’s most beautiful lakes. After that it was back to the B&B for some well deserved R&R before our hard ascent the following day.

On Sunday, once again drenched in sunshine, we pushed our way up The Llanberis Path towards the summit and the melting snow, up some tough scree strewn tracks and steps big enough to compete with the Great Wall!

Everyone did brilliantly and we reached the top of Snowdon just in time for some lunch and plenty of celebratory photos before we began our descent back down to ground level and the mini bus waiting to take us, aching but exhilarated, home to Milton Keynes.
